ABOUT

Khatuna Razmadze-Mebaduri was born in 1962.

 

In 1986, she graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and became a member of the Union of Young Artists.

 

That same year, she began working at Professor Givi Kandareli’s art studio.

 

Since then, she has been an active participant in local and international exhibitions.

 

In 1989, Khatuna participated in the 3rd International Textile Symposium in Riga, Latvia.

 

In 1994, she was appointed as an assistant to Professor Givi Kandareli, leading her to give lectures on composition at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and work with post-graduate students.

 

From 1996 to 2008, the artist worked at the Tbilisi State Cultural University as an associate professor of painting.

 

Since 1998, she has served as a senior research worker at the Tapestry and Art Textile Museum within the State Art Academy.

 

Additionally, she has been a member of the Georgian Artists Union since 2005.

 

Since 2008, Khatuna has been the Gallery Administrator of the Tapestry and Art Textile Museum.

 

In 2015, she was appointed co-representative of IWS – Georgia (International Watercolor Society – Georgia).

 

Khatuna Razmadze-Mebaduri works in various mediums including graphics, watercolor, oil painting, tapestry, textile design, and cloisonné enamel.

 

In 2004, she was awarded "Best Work of the Year" for her tapestry In the Soul at Tbilisi’s Christmas Festival of Visual and Applied Arts.

 

Her works are held in numerous private collections worldwide.
